Bushnell 7 x 26 Elite 1600 Horizontal Rangefinder - Black

Bushnell 7 x 26 Elite 1600 Horizontal Rangefinder - Black Review

Bushnell 7 x 26 Elite 1600 Horizontal Rangefinder - Black Feature

  • Standard Scan Mode
  • Rifle and Bow Mode
  • BullsEye and brush mode
  • RainGuard HD
  • 100% waterproof
The premier laser rangefinder for hunters and marksmen of uncompromising standards, the Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC 7x26 rangefinder backs up its bold statements with proven performance and the best components available today. The Elite 1600 ARC is outfitted with Bushnell's Angle Range Compensation (ARC) technology, which provides accurate readings from tree stands and steep hills. Simply hit the Fire button and it will calculate the "shoots-like" distance based on the angle of your shot. No more having to adjust your true horizontal distance by eye when you're standing at an extreme uphill or downhill angle.

The rangefinder also offers a number of specially designed distance modes. Bow Mode, for example, simultaneously displays line-of-sight, angle, and true horizontal distances to the target from 5 to 99 yards. In Rifle Mode, you'll receive bullet-drop and holdover information customizable for the exact zeroed range of your rifle in conjunction with the Variable Sight-In (VSI) distance technology. The rangefinder also offers Scan Mode, which continually scans the course and updates the LCD with the latest distance info; BullsEye Mode, which acquires the distances of close-in small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances; and Brush Mode, which ignores the brush and branches in the foreground and displays background distances only.

And with its super-premium, fully multicoated optics, no laser rangefinder monocular delivers a more stunning view. The housing is 100-percent waterproof, with Bushnell's patented RainGuard HD lens coating ensuring a clear view in moist conditions. Featured on all Elite products, the unique water-repellent coating causes water drops from rain, snow, sleet, or condensation to bead up into much smaller droplets. These tiny droplets scatter less light, resulting in a much clearer and brighter picture.

How Bushnell's Laser Rangefinders Work
Bushnell's laser rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 laser beam (as classified by the FDA), which is "bounced" off distant objects at the press of a button. In the process, the rangefinder uses a high-speed digital clock to measure the time it took for the laser beam to reach the target and return, and then calculates the distance within plus-or-minus 1 yard. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button and the time the exact range appears. The information appears on the unit's through-the-lens LCD display.

Because rangefinders bounce laser beams off targets in order to take measurements, their range is partially determined by the target's reflectivity. So distances to reflective or "hard" targets like rock cliffs and semis can be measured from farther away than those to soft-surface targets such as deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. By pre-measuring ranges to spots where trophies are likely to appear, they can concentrate on making an accurate shot when the moment of truth arrives.

  • Produces highly accurate distance readings up to 1,600 yards
  • Employs patented binocular technology to produce clear images
  • Excels in poor weather; LED display with brightness control and aiming circle
  • Scan mode produces instant readings from target to target

The Laser Guide offers an 8x magnification and a 30mm objective lens diameter, helping the unit produce accurate distance readings up to 1,600 yards away. Just as significantly, Swarovski's patented binocular expertise helps the Laser Guide produce perfectly clear images. In fact, the unit's unique technology makes the guide incredibly accurate even in poor weather conditions, so you can still take readings in driving rain or heavy snow. Other details include an LED display with an automatic brightness control and aiming circle, a scan mode that produces instant readings from target to target, and a compact, lightweight housing.

About Swarovski Optik
Although founded in 1949, Swarovski Optik's roots actually trace all the way back to 1895, when Austrian Daniel Swarovski--who invented the world's first electric grinding machine for jewelry stones--established the family-owned Swarovski Crystal in the province of Tyrol. Since then, the name Swarovski has become synonymous worldwide with the clearest crystal, precision grinding, and a brilliant spirit of innovation, as the original enterprise continued branching out into additional lines of business.

Swarovski Optik owes its rise to Wilhelm Swarovski, son of the original founder and an avid hobby astronomer, who decided to build his own improved binocular in 1935 at a mere 17 years of age. With access to the specialized glass production and finishing technologies already used to manufacture jewelry stones in his father's factory, Wilhelm managed to develop a novel prism fabrication and grinding process that he applied in constructing his first 6x30 binocular. Wilhelm went on to found Swarovski Optik KG in Absam, Tyrol, in 1949, thus laying the foundation for a sports optics company with a global reputation. His company's first serial product, the Habicht 7x42, is still an industry standard in the field of hunting optics and continues to be produced in the best tradition of its founder.

The Swarovski Optik 8x30 Laser Guide combines the high quality standards of Swarovski Optik performance with the latest laser range-measuring technologies. Packaged in a lightweight and compact instrument for exceptional performance in terms of image quality and precision accuracy, even in poor weather and light conditions. Experience accurate readings to 1600 yards.

Leupold GX-4 Digital Golf Rangefinder

Leupold GX-4 Digital Golf Rangefinder Review

Leupold GX-4 Digital Golf Rangefinder Feature

  • 2-faced digital golf rangefinder with interchangeable chrome and yellow faceplates
  • Meticulous line-of-sight measurement system with PinHunter and Prism Lock functions
  • True Golf Range feature calculates actual distance of green located below the tee
  • Recommends best club for each shot; Scan mode estimates multiple distances in 1 sweep
  • Rugged aluminum body and high-quality optics; measures 4.1 x 2.9 x 1.3 inches (W x H x D)
Take your golf game to the next level with the Leupold GX-4 digital golf rangefinder, a high-end, two-faced rangefinder that measures the distance to the pin with precision accuracy. In its default configuration, the GX-4 is a straightforward laser rangefinder, with a rugged aluminum body, vivid OLED display, and meticulous line-of-sight measurement system. Snap on the included yellow Smart Key faceplate, however, and the GX-4 instantly becomes a coach, providing accurate ranging information that matches your personal striking distances to the slope of the shot and current atmospheric conditions. The GX-4 even suggests which clubs to use, helping you step onto the course with confidence. It's like having your own caddy on the fairway, but without the small talk.

PinHunter and Prism Lock
The GX-4's most elemental features are its PinHunter and Prism Lock functions. Every GX-4 golf rangefinder has been precisely calibrated to fire a laser beam at the target in the crosshairs, whether it's a flag, tree, or sand trap. The rangefinder then uses its proprietary beam geometry to gauge the returns from the pin, and its advanced GX software to accurately separate those returns from the objects in the background. There's no better way to determine exactly where a flag or water hazard is located. It's even easier to range a distance pin on courses that utilize prism technology thanks to the GX-4's Prism Lock. Simply hold the top button to scan the area around the pin. The moment the GX-4 identifies a prism-topped flagstick, the rangefinder will beep and the display will freeze. The PinHunter and Prism Lock features combine to make the GX-4 the most accurate golf rangefinder on the market.

The GX-4's PinHunter function lasers precisely on a pin or other target.
Advanced Features
The GX-4 also includes a number of advanced features, accessible by switching the faceplate from chrome to yellow. The True Golf Range (TGR) feature, for example, uses sophisticated algorithmic-based software, temperature inputs, and altitude inputs to tell you exactly how far you should play a shot. If a golfer is hitting from the tee at a 30-degree slope above the green, the TGR will incorporate a golfer's hitting strength to calculate the best possible horizontal and vertical approach to the flag. Some golfers may be better served hitting a 6-iron, which will push the ball at a flatter trajectory and drop it down to the green sooner, while others would do better hitting a high 8-iron. The Club Selector takes the TGR function a step further by automatically recommending the appropriate club for each shot, and even indicating when the distance falls between clubs. Simply input the striking distance for three specific clubs and the GX-4 will do the rest. The TGR and Club Selector features offer a perfect way to get to know a course and improve your golf game. And if you're playing a competitive round with friends who demand an even playing field, simply snap the chrome faceplate back on and the GX-4 turns back into a traditional "no cheating" rangefinder.

The GX-4 also offers both Fog and Scan modes. Unlike most rangefinders--which give measurements from the first target returned, which in some cases is the fog between you and the pin--the GX-4 cuts through the weather to provide fast, accurate measurements to the green. You don't let anything stand between you and the cup, so why should your rangefinder? The Scan mode, meanwhile, delivers multiple readings in one quick sweep. Just hold down the Power button and the display will continuously update with accurate line-of-sight measurements.

Construction and Functionality
Leupold's products are legendary for their durability, with a ruggedly built housing and waterproof body. Fortunately for users, the optical system in the GX-4 is built to the same exacting standards, with precision glass, cutting-edge coating technology, and rugged structural components. The resulting optics are bright and clear, and offer accurate ranging, low glare, scratch resistance, and years of dependable use. On top of the optical precision, the GX-4 sports vivid red OLED displays, which are easy to read against any background and far superior to the standard LCD displays found in most golf rangefinders. Finally, the GX-4 offers an intuitive Quick Set Menu, giving you fast access to all the features of your rangefinder without cluttering the field of view. With a measurement range of 11 to 1000 yards, the iQ displays your actual yardage to your target as well as the additional or subtracted yardage amounts due to inclines or declines on the course, so that you can correctly club your shot. The iQ's Active Brightness Control Viewfinder, meanwhile, combines the advantages of both LCD and LED technologies so that you can use the rangefinder in any light conditions. The viewfinder is designed to detect the brightness of the field of view and automatically adjust the image from a grey LCD readout to a field of view that is lighted by an orange LED. The rangefinder offers quick one-touch measurements as well as successive distancing to different targets while you keep the measurement button depressed. Meanwhile, Nikon's Target Priority Mode ensures that the rangefinder is on the correct target.
